Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva organiged a five day long workshop on 'Manuscript Preparation and Painting in Sankari Style' from 15th to 19th July at the auditorium of the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies of Assam, Guwahati in collaboration with the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Government of Assam. The workshop was supported by International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), North-East Zone and Delphic Council of North-East India. The workshop provided training in Sanchipat making, Sankari Style painting by using traditional pigments such as Hengul, Haital etc. as well as traditional ink making with natural ingredients. The training program was conducted by Mridu Moucham Bora, a traditional artist as a trainer and resource person. Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva has been organizing this workshop every year in July since 2013 at various places in Assam. - photo at Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva
