The Annual General Meeting of the Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva, an organization working for the promotion of Sankari literature and culture internationally, was held at DRT Hall, Khutikatia, Nagaon on 25th December, 2024. The meeting was started with a Bargeet sung by Kakali Saikia. The Secretary of the Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva, Mridu Moucham Bora, read out the report of the previous years and explained in detail the activities undertaken by the Society in the past for the purpose of promoting and disseminating the works of Srimanta Sankaradeva. He also informed about the webinars conducted by the Society in collaboration with ICOMOS and Delphic Council in the last two years. He detailed the success of the workshops conducted by the Society on Brajawali language and preparation of Sachipatiya manuscripts. The meeting dissolved the old committee and elected Dr. Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti as President, Mridu Moucham Bora as Secretary, Pradip Hazarika as Coordinator, Jon Rajkhowa as Treasurer, Dr. Buljit Buragohain as Publicity Secretary, Raju Barua as Assistant Publicity Secretary and Papu Das as Assistant General Secretary. The society also decided to hold several seminars on Sankari literature and culture in collaboration with colleges in the coming year. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sangita Bora, Indranil Gayan, Dr. Madhuchanda Chaliha, Amitabh Bora and several other prominent educationists, writers and social workers. Several members of the Society were accepted as life members at this meeting.
